UPDATES
God is providing all kinds of opportunities for ministry, and exciting things are happening in
St. Ard. Below is a brief review of some of the
most recent happenings.
Firstly, Phyllis is recovering from her recent bout with Typhoid and is doing much better.
An anesthesia machine was shipped to Haiti via Samaritan's Purse (an organization from NC headed by Franklin Graham) and delivery was organized through Sawgrass Community Church (FL). The anesthesia machine will be uncrated and set up by the August and October medical teams.
30,000 lbs of baby formula was sent to Anderson, IN after a huge donation from Mead Johnson pharmaceuticals in Evansville,IN. We are shipping the formula palate by palate to distribute throughout Haiti. The Anderson based Church of God has donated warehouse space to house the baby formula until it can all be shipped.
Shortly after the earthquake, GermanHelpsOne provided helicopter support for our clinic. The German based crew provided materials, medicine and personnel to make it possible for our little clinic to
be a major provider for medical care for the area. The pilots and support staff continue to lend their hearts and hands to St. Ard as they are going to ship a container full of wheelchairs, walkers and crutches to help in our prosthetic/rehabilitation efforts.
Mission Haiti Medical is teaming with Heart, Hands and Hope for Haiti, a group from Boone , NC to finish roofing the hospital's second floor.
Preliminary talks have begun to partner with Kinderhilfswerk via a group from Fritzlar, Germany
to help support our clinic.
A group in Elkhart, IN headed by dentist Jeff Steele is refurbishing wheelchairs for the clinic. So far they have a "garage full" which are being disassembled, cleaned, oiled and put back together.
A lady in Anderson has donated many electrical and hand tools to help us with our construction projects in Haiti.
And lastly, we are in the midst of changing our name to Mission Haiti Medical to more accurately reflect our area of ministry. So keep your eyes open for those changes.
